American Sociological Association Honors Program
Lee Anne Flagg ('09) Honors Student with American
Sociological Association Honors Program
In the summer of 2008, Lee Anne Flagg was selected to attend the American
Sociological Association's Annual Meeting in Boston, MA
through the Honors Program. The
Honors Program is an opportunity for exceptional undergraduate sociology
students to attend conference sessions, present their own research at an Honors
Program roundtable, explore careers in sociology, attend a panel on graduate
school, as well as a graduate school fair, and network with prominent
sociologists. The ASA's Honors
Program is a great introduction to professional sociology for undergraduates.
Lee Anne states, "I cannot be thankful enough to the ASA Honors Program
and Truman's Department of Society and Environment for their support, which in
the end provided me with invaluable networking opportunities for internships and
graduate school. In addition, I know
I would not have been as successful without the guidance of the Society and
Environment faculty. Because of the
rigor of the coursework in Sociology/Anthropology, I was well prepared for
presenting research at a conference and pursuing a professional career in
sociology." More information about
the ASA Honors Program can be found on the ASA's website:
